How I get organized for the new year

One thing to know about me is that I am really organized. I just love planning on notebooks, writing stuff down so that I don’t forget about it, organizing the cupboards and anything in the house. I’m not a Marie Kondo – even though I hate keeping things with no purpose – but I sure like to organize things. I don’t think I’m too crazy about that, as I love being spontaneous, but I like to think it’s a quality. Therefore, I wanted to share some of my tips when you need to get a bit more organized for the new year to come.

Use a calendar

It may sounds simple, but a calendar is the best way to not forget things. Keep it simple for the main things (birthday, events, and appointments), it could save you a lot of time. You can put it on your wall so that it catches your eyes, or you can use any apps on your phone. I personally use the Google calendar app and it’s so simple and easy. It’s also a great tool for planning your weekends of evenings.

Try a bullet journal

Well, this is probably one of the best invention for people who like to take time to write stuff down. It’s not for everyone, and you really have to make time for it. You have so many possibilities now: the one already done for you, or the completely blank one. It’s your choice if you want to keep it minimal or if you want to get creative. But at the end of the day, it’s the best way to track things down, to write list and not forget anything.

Actually use the tools offer to you

If it’s a calendar, an app, a journal, anything: if you want to, use them. I would advise you to keep everything in one place if you tend to write things down everywhere. Or if you are a bit more organized, you can have a color code or even a journal for all of the things you want (a reading journal or a bullet journal for uni for example).

In the end, the possibilities are endless, you just have to find what works best for you. I personally love having one journal for everything – as my love for them as no boundaries. But tell me, what system do you use and how does it work for you?

I'm 24, I've got freckles (you get it now) and I'm a grumpy French, sometimes, who writes in English. I love books, cats, le barbu, pizzas and Dicaprio.
